The design draws heavily from American patriotic themes—featuring red, white, and blue accents, stars, and flag motifs—to reflect the company’s roots and veteran-focused mission. With large contact information upfront, clear service categories, and a strong sense of trust, the site is built to serve and convert local customers efficiently.

How Did the Project Start:

The client approached the project with a clear intention: to design a highly functional website that feels local, trustworthy, and distinctly American. There was a strong emphasis on usability, especially for older audiences, and on visually reinforcing Gunny’s values—service, integrity, and community. The website needed to showcase a broad range of HVAC and plumbing services, highlight exclusive veteran discounts, and make it incredibly easy for users to reach out.

Project Execution:

  1. Competitive Analysis: Reviewed local HVAC and plumbing websites across the U.S. to understand common trust-building techniques—like prominent CTAs, customer ratings, and service highlights. Inspiration was taken from top-performing small business service websites.
  2. User Flow: Prioritized a direct and efficient flow, with navigation focused on services, contact options, and social proof. The structure was kept shallow, ensuring visitors could reach essential information within two clicks.
  3. Information Architecture: Structured the site into clear service categories, testimonials, offers, and a special section for veterans. All pages lead users toward action—whether it's scheduling a service or grabbing a special discount.
  4. Wireframing: Wireframes focused on accessibility, clarity, and call-to-action prominence. A fixed navigation bar with contact buttons ensured visibility across all devices.
  5. High-Fidelity Mockups: The final UI incorporated bold patriotic visuals—stars, flags, eagle motifs from the logo—and a consistent red, white, and blue palette. Trust was visually reinforced through testimonials, transparent pricing, and service guarantees.

Visual Elements

  • Patriotic Design Language: The use of stars, stripes, and eagle motifs brought a strong sense of American identity and trust to the site.
  • Bold Navigation & Contact Access: Mobile numbers, enquiry buttons, and booking CTAs are front and center, reducing friction and increasing conversions.

  • Trust Elements: Customer reviews, service badges, and coupons were prominently displayed to build credibility and encourage action.
  • Media-Rich Layouts: Used real service images and videos to create authenticity and relatability throughout the site experience.
